Connect with your First-Year Seminar Peer Mentor
Your First-Year Seminar Peer Mentor is your guide to your first semester at Tulane. Starting from your first class meeting in New Student Orientation and continuing through the semester, peer mentors help you connect to resources, find your people, and get out into the New Orleans community. Each peer mentor is connected to a TIDES or Honors Colloquium course and attends the class weekly to offer a consistent presence throughout the semester. The fall peer mentors for each class are listed under each course description.
Your First-Year Seminar Peer Mentor will also be one of the first students you meet face to face during New Student Orientation. Many of our First-Year Seminar Peer Mentors are sophomores so were just in your place last year!

The First-Year Seminar Peer Mentor Program is an academic leadership opportunity for upperclass students to serve as a mentor to our newest students in a first-year seminar classroom (TIDES and Honors Colloquium). Peer Mentors play a crucial role in the transition of first-year students to the academic and social communities of Tulane University. Starting from the very first class meeting during New Student Orientation and continuing through the full semester, Peer Mentors model a collaborative and inclusive environment and lay a foundation for success in the first year.
The First-Year Seminar Peer Mentor application for Fall 2026 is open now and will close on Wednesday, February 25. It is part of the Common Mentor Application found on the Mentor Institute WaveSync page. Apply below!
