Hullabaloo Hello Highlights
Assigned Move-In days and time slots
Residential students will be randomly assigned a Move-In day and time slot for either August 10, 11, or 12. Housing & Residence Life will email you your assigned 30-minute arrival time slot to your Tulane email addresses later in May.
By assigning Move-In arrival times, Tulane spreads out the number of students and families on campus at one time and provides students some flexibility in planning their arrival. If you have an unavoidable conflict during your time slot, there will be a period when you may cancel your time slot and select a new one from available options in the Housing Portal. More details will be included in the time slot assignment email messages.
Scheduling your travel for Move-In
Many students and families arrive in New Orleans the night before their assigned Move-In day. Assigned Move-In arrival time slots run from morning through mid-afternoon. In the afternoon of your Move-In day, there will be programming for both students and families, including:
- 1PM – 4PM Family Resource Station
- 5PM – 5:45PM Family Welcome from senior university leaders (Students have their mandatory Wave Leader meeting at this time)
- 5PM - 5:45PM Wave Leader Meeting
- 6PM – 7:30PM Center for Intercultural Life Orientation
Students and families have the rest of the evening free to have dinner on- or off-campus and finish unpacking and setting up your room.
The day after your assigned Move-In Day
On the day following your assigned Move-In day, you will have mandatory programming beginning at 10am and continuing the rest of the week until the first day of classes. For that reason, families should plan to leave campus by 10am. If you wish to spend time in New Orleans as a family, it’s best to schedule that before your assigned Move-In.
Questions?
For any questions about Move-In, please contact Housing & Residence Life.
Beyond the Bubble takes you off campus and into the heart of New Orleans for an exciting adventure with fellow first-year students, peer mentors, and a staff guide.
Each experience is paired with a dynamic, faculty-led session that offers meaningful context, helping you connect classroom learning to real-world exploration.
Engage with faculty, staff, and returning students as they discuss the majors, minors, and academic research pursuits available to you within each of the five undergraduate schools. All open houses are drop-in format; you are encouraged to explore all scholarly interests and attend as many as apply.
A One, A Two, A Helluva Hullabaloo! Welcome to the Wave unites the incoming class for the first time as you discover what it means to be a member of the Tulane community.
