Hey friends! My name is Erin Tarpgaard (she/her) and I am so excited to be joining the First-Year Five Team. I’m from Falls Church, Virginia (shoutout to the DMV!), but I love the warm weather, culture, and palm trees here in New Orleans. I am majoring in marketing through the business school and minoring in Italian (ciao!).
I love fitness which led me to become a certified spin instructor at the Reily Center! It’s like a dance party on a bike and it’s my favorite thing in the world, so definitely come try it out! I am also in the Wave of Support Leadership Academy as a student mentor, and I’m involved in Greek Life as a member of Tri Delta! While I’m not in the spin studio, you’ll catch me buying a chai latte from PJs, listening to never-ending Taylor Swift songs, watching cheesy reality TV, or absolutely dominating the court in the intramural pickleball league.
I have barely scratched the surface of exploring NOLA, but some of my favorite spots are the art market on Frenchmen Street, Rock n’ Bowl (for unconventional line dancing) sitting by the river near Jackson Square, picnicking on the Fly, and anywhere around the French Quarter where Jazz is playing!
