Hi! My name is Carys Kasprzycki (she/her) and I am SO excited to be a member of the 2024-2025 First-Year Five! I am from Evanston, Illinois which is on the north shore of Chicago and I’m a (sophomore/freshman) at Tulane. I am currently double majoring in Psychology and Cognitive Studies with plans to add a minor in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. On campus, I am a college scholar, I attend monthly Psi Chi chapter meetings, and I sing in TuTones Acapella which has been my favorite extracurricular of all time. I love to sing, play guitar, and perform with my friends as well as attend concerts and listen to music. Some of my all-time favorites are Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Alanis Morissette, Fleetwood Mac, and Silk Sonic. I also love to draw, make pasta, spend as much time as I can petting dogs, and go explore new places!
I love living in New Orleans, it doesn’t get much better than good music, good food, and good weather. I love to spend time on Magazine Street and roller skate in Audubon Park. I love how collaborative the Tulane community is, everyone on campus is so friendly and supportive and it’s easy to fall in love with this place! If I had one piece of advice to share with first-year students, it would be to embrace every opportunity that comes your way and practice good self-care. You can almost always find me in the hub studying or spending time with friends so please come say hi! I can’t wait to meet you!
